Groups

Deb runs two body image/eating disorder recovery groups in person at her office in Brookline, Massachusetts on alternate Tuesday evenings. She describes them as a place where “recovery and life meet”, where clients can explore and collaborate with others in a deeply curious and compassionate community. They are based on a long-term psychotherapy model, weaving in Internal Family System language and Body Image Inside Out tools, offering members the opportunity to connect authentically and in turn, bring these skills into their worlds outside of the group.

Deb also facilitates an in-person relationship group one Thursday a month. It invites conversations about all relationships: romantic, friendship, familial, professional and with ourselves. This group is also long term and is built on the premise that exploration and growth within a safe environment allows for richer, deeper relationships outside of the therapy office.

Nothing ever goes away until it teaches us what we need to know.

My mind is like a bad neighborhood and I shouldn't go in there alone.

True belonging is not passive. It's a practice that requires us to be vulnerable, get uncomfortable, and learn how to be present with people without sacrificing who we are.
